This Post is an extension on how to use Automated Messages of Key strategies to Rock twitter (click here for the *free* service), how to use them to your advantage, and work for you 24/7 the right way (although this can also be applied to other social media). So without further interruption lets start.

Automated messages can make you or brake you. 3 main things to keep an eye out in your automated messages is for links, length, greeting. I can sit here and tell you with confidence, every time you see a message in your Twitter in-box that provides a link, you get this instinctive response to ignore it or delete it. Either way whatever message they were trying to convey didn’t get through. So in my perspective links are a no-no.

1. Links- I get it, following conventional brand marketing, it teaches you to put your phone number, your link (WHICH YOU SHOULD HAVE IN YOUR PROFILE), your brand, your address, a map on how to get to your business, and a little cheesy thank you note on how much you appreciate their business (we will talk more about greeting soon). Fear not there is a better way.

2.Length- is another important factor, remember that you only have 140 character limit in twitter (and yes that does include spaces) go one character above that,  just one character and it will give up the authenticity of your message. Many people can tell that it is an automated message when you have a word cut in half in the end of your message (It’s also embarrassing).

This is actually great practice to make your messages short, sweet, and get straight to the point which can be applied in all areas of your life (try it with your kids it will work wonders .

3.Greeting- Aaah yes the greeting. This is the golden nugget, “Appreciation will win out over self promotion every time” — Tommy Wyatt. Instead of putting all that traditional gibberish in your message, send out a sincere word of appreciation about how much you prize their connection and friendship and describe what your about (just make sure to point out someway you would like to help them i.e helping them reach their goals or have better skin).

A good example would be “Thank you for taking your time to follow me here on twitter, I look forward to connecting. If you want to create better skin Im here to help” or you can take an education based pitch and apply it to your message.

You can create Interest by teaching people NOT by simply teaching them something new altogether but by teaching them something new about something old… let me write that one more time,  you can create interest by teaching people something new about something old. An example of this for the skincare industry would be “Thank you for connecting I have a passion for skincare and want to help you find out facts like what M&Ms and your cosmetics share (harmful)”.

Remember that the most valuable commodity we have now a days, is time. We are in a ever changing world that more and more “things” want our attentions. All this voices, ads, television, radio, newspapers, billboards, cell phones, internet, and so much more.

So why should someone else give you their attention? are you just trying to fulfill your selfish needs? or are you genuinely out there to help others in a way your passionate about, and  doing it so well that you get to make money out of it?
